Children hold a special place at Elizabeth Lee UMC.  Below are the different ministries we provide to nurture children in the Christian faith:

Nursery

Elizabeth Lee UMC has two nurseries, one in The Lillian-Ellis Center for the 9:45am service and one in the Education Building that is open from the beginning of the 8:30am through the 11:00am service. Families with children 0 to 3 will find a loving environment in the nurseries at Elizabeth Lee.  Our nursery staff follow guidelines for diaper changing, hand washing, and disinfecting surfaces. We have adopted Safe Sanctuary policies (copy provided to parents and available online) to ensure children are safe and nurtured.  Adults sign-in children, including cell number and instructions.  It is our joy to hold, feed, and interact with children while adults are in Sunday School or Worship.

Children’s Sunday School

Sunday school meets from 9:45am to 10:45am and from 11:00am to 12:00pm. Children Pre-K through 5th grade are encouraged to engage with each other and with the teachers in an environment that promotes growing in Christ through fun and fellowship. There are two separate times for Children’s Sunday School, each time slot is taught by different trained volunteers and the children participate in a diverse variety of activities and biblical lessons.

Kids Club

kids 12Kids Club is our Sunday afternoon ministry for Pre-K through 5th grade from 5:30 – 7 pm during the school year. A complimentary supper is served by church members at 5:30pm in the Fellowship Hall.  Adults in the supper group are volunteers in the classrooms after the meal.  Choir rehearsal,  Bible stories,  crafts,  and games follow supper. Kids are invited to come and form a community that focuses on the joy of being engaged in biblical learning through food, fun, and fellowship.

If you have any questions or would like to get involved, please contact our Children’s Director, Barbara Berwanger.
