The Youth of Elizabeth Lee United Methodist Church have attended Camp Glisson and the Spiritual Life Retreat under the leadership of Amber Burns, Director of Youth Ministry, for many years. This ministry has proven to make a difference in developing the Christian life of youth. We are encouraging parents and youth to take a look at this great opportunity for Christian development, fun, fellowship, and learning.
Camp Glisson is a ministry of the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. Since 1925, this place has become holy ground as thousands have had their faith strengthened through God’s presence in creation and Christian community. It is located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Dahlonega, GA.
The camp is for second grades to high school seniors. A camp type for everyone, Glisson offers village camp (nice cabins with showers and AC), adventure outpost camp (more outdoor wilderness experiences), and Sparrowood (for campers with mild to moderate developmental disabilities).
So, whether you choose the spring spiritual life retreat, summer camp, or both, you will experience spiritual growth that could change your life. Check it out at www.ngumc.org/spiritualliferetreats.
The theme for 2017 is “Seasons” and will help your youth recognize that there are times when they are fruitful, times when they are in growth, times when faith is renewed, and event times when things might seem bleak and that we must allow God to use all those times and experiences to help us grow in our faith. You may visit our website elumc.com for links, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for a complete view and comments.
The Spiritual Life Retreat deadline is Jan. 8, 2017. The registration and deposit is $35. Contact Amber Burns for more information.
Summer Camp 2017 registration will open on Dec. 1, 2016 for members of United Methodist Churches and on Jan. 1, 2017 for non members.
